It's almost that time again! We're on the verge of the big SPN RBB shindig, so to kick it all off, we’re borrowing a little appetizer from the generous sirona_gs over at the avengers_rbb and hosting a 'Get Pumped, Get Prompts' post.

Use this opportunity to squee and discuss what you, as authors, would love to write, what inspires you in a piece of fanart, as well as what we artists are jonesin' to create! Post all your prompts and chat with the artists here. (This is, of course, no guarantee your suggestions will show up on Claims Day, but personally, I could use a little inspiration so I figured maybe others could too.)

Last year was my first BB ever, and I had so much fun. I got to write sci-fi! I've love to do something like that again -- sci-fi, fantasy, anything speculative fiction, really. It could be urban fantasy or medieval, or a mix.

Idea # 2: anything focused on a subculture. Loggers, preppers, professional online gamblers (nonspecific, just examples). I really love digging into the corners of culture, and I think they make really interesting stories.

Most of my ideas are wincest related.

Season 10 inspired; Demon!Dean feeding Sam his blood to keep him under his control. Sam struggling with his addiction and torn with the idea of saving Dean or using him for his blood.

This will be my first year writing for SPNRB! I'm really excited.

As for what I'd like to write about, I'm up for anything! From slice of life to canon dark fic, I'm all in. I always lean toward SPN canon/Dean/Sam and Dean, but if particularly intriguing piece of art drags me in, I'll go for it.

I'm not above humor or Dean-centered angst, however. And "What if?" scenarios are always a plus

I want to trick an unfortunate writer into writing me a story where Dean's soul is trapped in a world he built himself, and is conent to stay there because he also creates his own version of Sam to keep him company, believes even if this is not real, Sam in the other world is better off without him. Sam comes to rescue Dean and is a little hurt and disturbed that Dean would rather stay there with a younger version of Sam. On their way out, Sam managed to make Dean realize that he doesn't want to rot away there after all. Also at some point Sam is beat back to his true form which is half distorted and demonic, and is forced to use his power to defeat the monsters in the way. Dean is a little scared at Sam's true form, but comes to understand him. At some point Dean lets go of the fake Sam and becomes the badassed Winchester again. The last and biggest monster embodies the darkness in Dean.
So basically I want the two brothers not to dismiss the issues between them and accept each other's weakness.
I don't have details as to what the world in Dean's head is like. It'd be great if any writer is interested in this, and chat and suggestions are more than welcome. I haven' t decided whether to participate in reversebang because all that above is still not enough for me to draw a pic. So if any of you want to make it happen, it probably will.

This reminds me if a scenario from one of the Enders Game books where his "perfect version" of his sister comes to life or something and be interactions between her and the real sister are creepy and awesome. Very cool idea! Intimidating to think of writing but I hope it happens.

I'm a complete sucker for reading and writing outside POV -- I always want to know what the one-offs or the minor characters are thinking about when they look at the heroes we all love. I think I definitely have some kind of voyeurism kink too -- "someone finds out [especially about Wincest]" is always appealing, whether it ends in heartbreak or china patterns.

I hope I have the time to participate because I want to draw a Sam who isn't Lucifer's true vessel (AU or Angels being dicks and throwing a wrench into the plans), but says yes anyway.
Because the changed Sam mostly believes what Lucifer is doing / trying to do and so Sam endures coming apart at his seams. While Lucifer tries to hold back, but still burnes out Sam.

I saw annie46's comment above, and all I could think of is "I concur, but Eastern history — let me write you samurai/wuxia Sastiel."

That said, I could probably be convinced to do almost anything Sastiel/Mishalecki/Samisha/Jartiel. I might also be interested in writing about Lucifer and Gadreel way, way, way back when.

First off, let me say I LOVE YOU GUYS for modding this challenge and making it possible; thank you! I had a GREAT time last year, claimed a story and did a pinch hit and got two of my favorite fics ever out of it-- one gen and one slash. A nice balance, and both of the artists were very talented and a delight to work with.

God, I love fanart. I wish I could do it. I wish I was rich and could commission some of my favorite fan artists to illustrate some of my favorite fics. BUT REVERSE BANG IS THE NEXT BEST THING. Or even better, because it makes me write something I otherwise might not.

As for what inspires me in a fanart prompt-- beauty and mystery. If I'm not too sure what an image represents, and the prompter leaves it somewhat up to interpretation, that really gets me going! I like fantastical elements-- not necessarily creatures, (though I love to see those!) but something luminous that isn't reality as we know it... something lyrical, something beautiful, including the beauty of our boys...

And as for the latter, I love non-porn nudity-- naked boyz not necessarily in a sexual context.

Last year's challenge was my first bb and I was terrified but everyone was awesome and I loved so much of the art work it was difficult to choose. I can't do art so I'm always in awe of those who can. I only hope that I don't disappoint the artist. I love early Sam and Dean stuff or a J2au set in any time.

Hi, I've never done a Reverse Big Bang, but I'd like to participate in this one. I wanted to do the Big Bang but was too busy with the WIPs I have in progress for another fandom. I thought this would be a good way to get my feet wet. Some of the art that I've seen on the BBs has been awesome! I hate a naked fic and so I enjoy the art on the BBs even more!

I'm looking forward to participating in this challenge. Can't wait to see all the art!

This is my favorite challenge, hands down, and the times it's been the best for me have been when the art poses some kind of question that I have to figure out by writing the story. Like my first time, with amindaya's art of a winged Jared standing on the edge of a building in the middle of a city. Why/how did Jared have wings? What was he doing looking out over the city? Could other people see him and his wings? Were there other people like him in this world? What was it like to be him? I have the most fun writing when I'm trying to figure things out, so for me, any kind of prompt that provokes questions and speculation is one that's going to interest me.

I've never done this challenge before but I'm thinking about taking part this year. I'd love to write something that I've never done before, maybe something a little dark, with an apocalypse/end of the world vibe, or maybe sci-fi or something set in space. I also like the idea of the J2 (or I guess AU Sam and Dean), being isolated somewhere together.

I also look through prompts on finally grabbed one last year and had a blast writing something super off of my radar with Gen Lucifer. This year I'm considering to do some art, but have no idea what I would want to create or see come to life with words. This post is at least posing some good questions for me!

This will be my first year giving it a run! I'm very much in a dark!fic mode lately. I'm Wincest only, but I thought about Dean going into full demon mode: indulging all the time, going almost hard rockstar dark—sex, drugs, and rock n roll. Eyeliner, cocaine, all that jazz. I'd love to go through working out how Sam would deal with that sort of change.


If that's too dark, I'd also love a J2 military AU. I'm married to a soldier, so it's become a huge part of my life. I think it would be interesting to work on the dynamics of J2 in a deployed Army unit—the loss, the need for each other, the dirt, dust, and guns.

This will be my third RBB but I want to submit arts this time. So It'll be my first time as an artist. I'm not a real artist just playing around with photos and pictures. I will be happy if anyone would claim my art. :-D

Last year was my first year as an artist and I can't wait to do it again!
Thankfully this year I am a lot more comfortable in my ability to draw Dean and Castiel so hopefully that will make a more effective art piece... (I mean, good lord, I cannot look at my piece I did last year... the... everything... its so bad.)
I also came up with like a billion more AU ideas after submitting what I did, so hopefully I can think of something more creative and hopefully fun for my author to write...

I only draw Destiel so that's something to look forward to..

I was thinkiiiinggg indulging in my love for whump.. gratuitous violence, hurt/comfort... really hurting someone in my artwork and seeing what the author does with it...

ooor some AU kind of thing. I like turning Cas into some other kind of creature... and seeing Dean's reaction and interaction.

I dunno... we'll see. All I can do is hope that my thing isn't untaken for too long <3 I'm just thankful my drawing last year got an author eventually, even if it took a little bit. I want to draw something that people will want to write for, or even fight for! That would be so flattering!
but of course, that will only happen if I draw something interesting....

I would really love to see some art with some rare pairs. I mean, my favorite ship is Castiel/Lucifer, and it would be amazing to see those two together in any context since it's so painfully rare, but honestly, I'd be more inclined to write about relationships that you don't see so much work about. I also really like things in canonverse. And angels. Please something with angels. :')

I ended up writing a bang-size story last time that was very personal for me, as well as trying my hand at a pinch-hit with a different pairing. I enjoyed both writing experiences so much, as well as the opportunity to work closely with the fabulous beelikej. I am SO looking forward to seeing what art is presented this year!!!!
