Get Pumped, Get Prompts!

2014Banner_3

It's almost that time again! We're on the verge of the big SPN RBB shindig, so to kick it all off, we’re borrowing a little appetizer from the generous [livejournal.com profile] sirona_gs over at the [livejournal.com profile] avengers_rbb and hosting a 'Get Pumped, Get Prompts' post.

Use this opportunity to squee and discuss what you, as authors, would love to write, what inspires you in a piece of fanart, as well as what we artists are jonesin' to create! Post all your prompts and chat with the artists here. (This is, of course, no guarantee your suggestions will show up on Claims Day, but personally, I could use a little inspiration so I figured maybe others could too.)

Be kind, be respectful, get excited!

Sincerely, your 2014 mods: [livejournal.com profile] amber1960, [livejournal.com profile] lightthesparks, [livejournal.com profile] quickreaver and [livejournal.com profile] sophiap

I haven't read the books or watched the movie (I remember there was a movie, right?) Yeah it's creepy and I'd love see Sam's reactions... but too much info in one piece, I guess I'll try to draw only a bit of it or something else and see what the writer will do about it :)

There was a movie, I didn't see it. Turns out the author is a horribly bigoted bastard which sucks out loud because he's a really good writer. Anyway, yeah that's a lot to pack into one piece but it's fascinating and an awesome idea!

Oh now I remember hearing that the author despises fanwork?
Maybe I'll just draw one element and see how the author is gonna interpret it ...

Nope Orson Scott Card turned out to be a racist bigot anti-gay person. Sadly, because like cannonisrelative says, he writes with such insight into humanity it's hard to believe he could talk like this in real life.

Thank you for the info :) Here the word for fanworks and yaoi/bl and the more offical, homosexuality is the same one (doujin, borrowed from Japanese) and I guess I misunderstood.
I'm suddenly curious about his books. I'll put it on my list...

I really love his books - especially Ender's Game, Speaker for the Dead and Xenocide, but also the Alvin Maker series. Honestly I was so surprised to find out he was a Mormon for starters, then all this bigotry was an even bigger surprise. He writes with such compassion for his characters. One instance where one shouldn't mix real life with fantasy!
