Questions & Answers

Claiming is now underway at all three claims posts. Hopefully, everyone has had a chance to swing by and put in their choices, but if not, there is still plenty of art left.

About the Claims Process:

  • We (the mods) made three separate claims for the sake of organization, and also because there were simply too many claims to fit into one post. This is our first time running a challenge of this type (Reverse Bangs have only been done in two other fandoms to our knowledge), and with so many participants, so we ask for your patience and understanding as we are still figuring out how best to organize this as we go.

  • We assigned claims in the order they appear in our LJ inbox, which is in the order they were posted overall. We did our best to ensure a speedy and fair process, but we are only human and there were over 150 prompts and at least as many writers. We understand if you are disappointed that you did not get precisely what you wanted, but there are still plenty of wonderful art prompts unclaimed as of yet, so we encourage you to review the posts to see if there's anything else you could possibly write for.

  • We understand that some of the art prompts are quite popular. However, in the interest of fairness to all the artists involved, there will be no double-claiming of any particular prompt until all of the prompts have been claimed at least once. If, at the end of this round of claiming, there are any remaining art prompts, we will go through a second round of claims wherein authors may claim a second, previously unclaimed prompt to write for. This means that if there is any unclaimed art at the end of several rounds of claims, there will be no double claiming at all allowed in this entire round of the challenge.

To the Artists: If any of your prompts have been claimed already, you may feel free to PM or contact your writer. We will be sending out an official email notifying everyone of who they claimed/were claimed by, but that will likely take a few days for us to get through.

Questions: If anyone has any questions about the process, please comment in the appropriate thread below so that my gmail account will sort them correctly.

Withdraw: If you would like to drop out or withdraw from the challenge, please comment in the appropriate thread: Hi, just letting you know I'll be dropping out of the writing portion. There is no need to state a reason, unless you wish to.

-Bauble (one of the mods)

ETA: I (Bauble) will be available to reply immediately in the next hour, but after that, I, and all of the rest of the mods will be unavailable tonight. So if you do not receive an immediate response, please be patient--we will answer when we return.

I don't really have a question, I'm just here to give you guys a pat on the shoulder. 'cause there's a lot of people who've been ranting about you doing a shitty job, and it's just. Not. True. You're doing a great job, really, and honestly? I couldn't have this. Like, at ALL. I ain't got the skills. So I think it's super of you to do it, and the less great parts are probably gonna be fixed until next time anyway.

KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK. *hoots*

I'm very sorry for the late notice, but I just found out some RL stuff that means I'll have to drop out. The challenge looks great, though - I anticipate many happy hours of looking at art and reading fic.

I just wanted to thank you for arranging this, the art was amazing and I'm really looking forward to write for it, the work this must have cause you is really...yeah.. wow.

So really, thank you!

Just wanted to add my thanks to all of the mods for their hard work and patience.

I'm sending you all good thoughts. (:

Another participant thanking you for all of your work.

I'd like to say again that I'm sorry for being a bitch in the claims post. You guys are doing a great job and I don't envy the work you're doing one bit. Keep up the good work!

My complaint about multiple posts could've been worded much better, and in a much less bitchy way. I don't trust LJ email notifications at all, so I never would've considered doing three separate posts rather than a single one which all three of the prompt pages point to.

[identity profile] melanth0.livejournal.com 2010-09-24 09:37 pm (UTC)(link)
Once again, thank you for putting this together! I can't even imagine the headaches you've had today, but I'm so grateful for the ability to participate.

[identity profile] amor-remanet.livejournal.com 2010-09-24 09:45 pm (UTC)(link)
Another participant chiming in to express gratitude for the mods. You guys took on running a difficult, complicated challenge and I think you're doing admirably with it. People are always going to be upset about things, it's how this stuff works, but I think most of us are just grateful that you're running things so well. ♥

Kudos to a wonderful job. There is no way to please everybody all the time and in my book, the mods did a great job! Live and learn, I say, and this was a wonderful first time <3

Thank you for the hard work! For a first experience you're doing good (I couldn't do it!), there is bound to be some mistakes because you're only human and LJ is... LJ. Keep it up! :)

[identity profile] dollarformyname.livejournal.com 2010-09-24 10:04 pm (UTC)(link)
Thank you guys for your hard work and patience (especially your patience right now; yikes)! I've never participated in anything like this before but so far you guys have been nothing but cordial and industrious. Really awesome job, and I'll definitely be looking forward to future rounds.

[identity profile] falling-dominos.livejournal.com 2010-09-24 10:08 pm (UTC)(link)
If I could do it I'd claim one(two really, they were just under my top three but were SUPER GOOD!) of the ones that's been left open, but I just don't think that I could write 10,000(15,000) words of fic when I'm getting ready to graduate. T_T but I have toooooooo much to do.

But I might just have to like stab people who don't take them. SO MUCH LOVE!!!!

::nod nod::

Have to give props for handling all of this with tact. I definitely don't agree with how it was run...but I also don't agree with people absolutely flaming the hell out of you guys. So hang in there. It'll calm down in a day or two.

[identity profile] dauntdraws.livejournal.com 2010-09-24 10:23 pm (UTC)(link)
Thanks for the clarifications! I'm contacting my author now! :). Good work guys!

[identity profile] blondie-lottie.livejournal.com 2010-09-24 10:29 pm (UTC)(link)
I'll join in with the others who have commented here and say that actually I found the organisation of this to be as fair as possible considering the circumstances and quantity of people being dealt with. Having worked in an environment which can be potentially as equally demanding, you have my sympathy.

I'd take my hat off to you if I had one but instead I'll just gesture back to the original dancing gif I put up in response.

Thanks guys, I really mean it.

[identity profile] thinlizzy2.livejournal.com 2010-09-24 10:37 pm (UTC)(link)
I just want to say thanks for doing this, and add my voice to those saying I think the organisation has actually been quite well done. I can't wait to start writing!

[identity profile] exhaledtroop.livejournal.com 2010-09-24 10:40 pm (UTC)(link)
just wanted to add too, thanks mods for all your hard work- a LOT of organizing had to be done. you're all appreciated! and like other ppl have noted above, I think you guys have handled the bumps admirably.

[identity profile] caelith.livejournal.com 2010-09-24 10:44 pm (UTC)(link)
Congrats guys. There were bound to be a few fuck ups, that's the nature of the beast. But you dealt with it and ran the gauntlet of bitching with good grace.

[identity profile] clex_monkie89.livejournal.com 2010-09-24 11:36 pm (UTC)(link)
Thank you guys for running this! I know it probably doesn't help much against all the complaints, but I don't blame you guys at all for me not getting any of my prompts. I missed the start of claiming by two hours and that's no one's fault by mine.

[identity profile] davincis-girl.livejournal.com 2010-09-24 11:49 pm (UTC)(link)
Thank you very much for all the massive amounts of work you did setting this up. I hope that everyone will think about that and treat you well.

[identity profile] taelynhawker.livejournal.com 2010-09-25 12:22 am (UTC)(link)
Just wanted to add my thanks to the mods.

You guys handled everything with class and patience and I know there were parts of today that got hairy and that people threw a lot of attitude around. Mistakes happen and since this is the first go-around there should be patience and acceptance for that.

So thanks for running the Reverse BB! I can't wait to find out who my artist is and get to work, and I'm looking forward to everyone's finished pieces!

[identity profile] evil-knitter.livejournal.com 2010-09-25 12:39 am (UTC)(link)
Okay, your icon is making me LOL for reals.

Also, I'm just going to go ahead and tack on my "GREAT JOB" and "THANKS Mod Team" here. You guys are awesome to take this on, especially on this, The Most Holy of Days.

They locked the claims posts to be members only which messed up a few of us writers who were very confused as well.
