Rough Draft Submission Guidlines

Hello, intrepid RBBers! I know it seems like we JUST had one check-in, and now, here's another. But the holidays are quickly approaching and we want everyone to have a good solid start on their fic, so no one falls too far behind.

Rough Drafts are due Sunday, December 7th. (As long as it's the 7th somewhere in the world, you're good!) Your rough drafts should be 3000+ words with a beginning, middle and end. (Including outlines and brief scene descriptions is perfectly acceptable.) We understand that all writers create differently, so we're not going to nitpick the minutia. Your artist is surely excited, and the more excited they are, the more likely they are to create additional art for the fic. Keep them in the loop!

Please title your email "Rough Draft, #S1023 (or whatever your art number is), Author's name." We have an impressive number of drafts to log in; if you don't give us this information, it makes it twice as hard and takes twice as long. If you don't hear from us, no news is good news!

Pinch hitters are not expected to meet this rough draft deadline, as many have just received their assignments. We'll check with pinch hitters on down the line, as needed.

omg THANK YOU for not minding the outlines for unfinished chapters cause I've got 17K and I was going crazy trying to figure out how to pump out the last 3 chapters by the deadline which never would've happened, so if you don't mind, I'm gonna send you what I have early so I can relax and keep writing :D

So glad you are accepting random unfinished things. Ive got nearly 6K written now, but ive been writing in a choppy scene way. I write a scene that is fresh in my brain, not chronologically....and i plan on reordering scenes to make sense later. Just seem to be churning out more stuff this way....so theres no real beginning, middle, end yet unless you count my outline..,.lol. Hope this makes sense.

I have the entire story planned out, and I've got about a thousand words actually written, but work has been hectic lately with all the foreign visits, so I haven't had nearly as much time to write after my last big bang as I expected. I thought I could do it but now the deadline is so close I'm not so sure. I've been really ill lately and straight after that I had some vaccinations, one on either arm, so it kinda hurt to write and the short version is, I've got next to nothing done. I have about 68% of the requirement finished but very little of my planned amount and was wondering if I could get an extension? If that's not okay then maybe we could compromise and I send you what I have done now?

I got my first two stories in but my third which is a pinch hit is nowhere near done, I got a good chunk done and well over the 3k but I manged to slip and fall on ice and re-damage my shoulder, so that has put a halt on my writing, so just to know how soon would you need a rough draft of the last story? I could get it to you in a few days if that would be okay?

Hello! I had an unexpectedly busy weekend and I'm still bashing out words - it's 3am here and I have a free day tomorrow to work on my fic. Is it OK if I go to bed and finish it/send it to you tomorrow? I'd rather write decent words when I'm awake rather than dodgy ones while I'm dozing off!! But I know it's my own fault for being so last minute about it, so if you command me otherwise then I'm probably good for another couple of hours before I pass out...! xxx
