The Fine Art of Pinch-Hitting
Since we've already had a question about signing up to pinch-hit, here's how we do it! If you think you might be interested in volunteering, join and track the Pinch-Hitter's Dugout:
spnrbb_pinchhit.
When a piece of art becomes writerless, we will post it there and the first kind soul to claim it, gets it. We'll then work up a new deadline with the pinch-hitter and hopefully, all is well from there on out!
It's important for an author to really commit to writing when claiming a piece of art in the first place--no artist likes feeling abandoned--but if you feel you cannot complete the fic you've claimed, regardless of reason, please let us know ASAP so the pinch-hitter has the most time possible to write. There is no shame in admitting you can't finish a fic; life gets in the way sometimes! Vanishing and leaving us and the artist in the lurch, however, is not awesome.
Thanks again for signing up, everyone. Here's hoping this is a fantastic RBB year!

One other question... if pinch hitting would I work on the prompt from scratch or pick up where the
starting author left off. I've done both in the past and I'm usually good at matching another writer's
voice if I've some idea where they were going. I write for a living and am always in someone else's
voice... so, just asking how it's done here. Thanks... Lisa
