The Supernatural Reverse Bang Challenge

The countdown has started! Next week the first RB teams are presenting their art & fics, woohoo!

It's up to each artist/author team to decide amongst themselves who will post to spn_reversebang, but any submissions that do not have links for both art and fic will not be approved to go through the queue.

When it is your posting date, you can post the fic* and art on your various sites first to get the URLs ("LINK" in the code below), as long as you post your Masterpost here at the comm immediately thereafter! Make sure your posts are unlocked and accessible to all.
*Post the entire work at once, do not post it piecemeal, like a serial.

Check with the PREVIEW ENTRY button before you post. The spn_reversebang is moderated, which means your post will not be posted straight to the community, but will be put into a queue, so a mod can check it. Should there be a problem after all, you will receive a message so you can fix it. Only the person who writes the post can edit it.

Keep Author/Artist notes, disclaimers, and other extra things to the actual fic/art posts. This will help prevent master posts to this community from getting too lengthy or cluttered.

The ReverseBang is an art challenge first, so having art in your masterpost is encouraged:) Show us a storybanner or (a peek of) the art that inspired the fic! Please keep any illustrations in the Masterpost work-safe and no larger than 600px in width.

You must add relevant tags to your masterpost including: challenge: 2021, genre, medium, pairing, rating, and word count. In the event that more than one pairing tag could apply or there are multiple types of art, then include all that are relevant. If there isn't an appropriate tag for your story, feel free to request one in the comments.
Dreamwidth users are welcome to repost their Masterpost in the SPN_ReverseBang Dreamwidth:)!

After your masterpost goes live on our LJ, you are free to pimp it all over the internet.

Be sure to communicate with your partner before posting! (You should be talking to each other anyway, yes? If you haven't touched base in several weeks, please do so!) Talk with each other about who's going to do the comm masterpost and what it should say, how any additional art should be displayed, the tags it will use, and a suitable time when you can post together. Hey y'all, how is everyone doin'?

This is an informal check-in and if you're busy and everything's cool with your collab, don't let me distract you, just keep playing! Fangirling and squee in the comments are appreciated though, so if you could give a quick response to let us know things are coming along nicely and/or to cheer each other on, that would be great:)

If you haven't heard from your partner in a while and have concerns: contact me through the modmail, so we can sort things out. I can't help if I don't know there are issues! (Please use YOUR ART CLAIM NUMBER in all communications!) If I don't hear anything before fic drafts are due (Sunday October 24th), I will assume your collab is going according to plan. Make sure you and your partner are on the same page and that you both will be ready to share your fanworks together on your assigned date*.

You should be in touch with your partner by now. If you haven't been able to reach them, email the mod account asap, so we can sort things out. There is no judgement; it's simply to find out what's going on in order to move along. If you receive a modmail, please reply as soon as possible.

Guidelines & Advice for a happy Reverse Bang experience
Now that everyone has their assigned date(s), here are some suggestions that will hopefully help make this a wonderful fandom experience for all:)

Every artist/author team dynamic will be different. Some teams will be more intense, with high levels of communication almost daily. Other teams will be more casual, with only the occasional email as both parties work separately and come together at the end for a master post. There is no right or wrong way to handle this challenge, and it's to the discretion of each artist/author team to figure out what works for them. The only requirement is that both parties be civil and respectful towards each other during the process.
Talk about how you want to collaborate, so you are aware of each other's expectations. Communication is key!

If there are problems between you and your artist/author, please try your best to work it out. If, however, they are being unresponsive or extremely uncooperative, you may mail the mod account and I will do my best to help resolve the issue.

POSTING
Details about How to Post will go up when it's closer to November, but here are a couple of things to keep in mind.
There will be a general check in for artist/author pairings on Friday October 8, just to hear how everybody is doing:)
Mandatory Writer Rough Drafts are due on Sunday October 24, but feel free to send it whenever you're ready. Drafts should be at least 2,500 words long. (The minimum FINAL word count is 3,000 words. You are absolutely welcome to write more, but this is not a Big Bang, so no need for Big stress;)
Authors, your artist should receive a copy of the draft as well, so they can squee over it with you and so they can create additional art if they want. (They will understand it's a work in progress, don't worry about it being a bit messy still)

All SPN and Either art is claimed, but here are the awesome RPF artworks on offer in this third round of claims! Let's get all these artists a partner too. Minimum word-count is 3000, long & short fic are welcome, first draft is due October 24!
ANYONE can claim a piece now, whether it's your first, second or third claim. You do not have to have signed up and RB artists who want to write are welcome to grab one of these as well. (Just be sure you aren't over-extending yourself)
