Authors are then expected to write a short fic (minimum of 3,000 words) based on the art they chose.
We expect authors and artists to leave their

Rules for Artists:
By the rules of this challenge, each submission should be one (1) piece of new art, and it should be completed. Completed meaning, that it is fit to be a stand-alone piece. (You may still add to-, and make changes to your work after claims, but an author should be able to use it as a prompt as-is).
Your art may NOT have been posted anywhere else previous to this challenge.
Minimum requirements: 400x600 px for 2-dimensional art, or 30 seconds for a vid. There is no maximum.
Artists may submit two pieces of art for this challenge only if they make the Early Bird deadline with one of them. After that date only one submission will be allowed per artist.
The Early Bird deadline this year will be Monday, September 3rd. All art will be due Monday, September 17.
This challenge is open to all pairings and genres, so long as it includes at least one character or actor from Supernatural. Artists may choose to specify what pairings (if any) they envision in the story, as well as submit a short text description of their piece (optional). A complete submissions guide will be provided in due time, so please be sure to join and watch the community for updates.
Artists are not allowed to also sign-up as writers, and vice versa. The only exception to this are pinch-hitters, for which everyone can sign up, provided that they are on schedule with their initial prompt(s)
Please sign up to participate as an artist here.
Rules for the Authors:
Authors must write a fic with a minimum of 3,000 words, based on the art they choose during the Art Claims. Claims will be first come, first serve. Your fic must be related to the art for which it is written, and it cannot have been already posted elsewhere.
Rough drafts meeting the minimum required word count will be due Sunday, October 28th.
There will be required check-ins, draft deadlines, and a certain level of communication with your artist is expected. If you do not meet your deadlines or fail to communicate with your artist, you may receive one or more warnings, after which a pinch-hitter will be assigned.
The fics must be beta read, and we have a post for Fic Beta volunteers available for authors to contact directly. There is also a non-affiliated LJ community at
Authors are not allowed to also sign-up as artists, and vice versa. The only exception to this are pinch-hitters, for which everyone can sign up, provided that they are on schedule with their initial prompt(s).
Please sign up to participate as an author here.
Betas:
Volunteers to be Fic and Art Betas may sign up here.
The Claims Process:
Art claims will officially begin on Saturday, September 22, though the post will be up a couple of days beforehand so that writers may take a look at all the art before the actual claiming starts. The art posts will contain thumbnail previews of all the art (the thumbnails will link to the full size version of the art), accompanied by an optional text description of the subject. All art will be posted anonymously, and claims will be first come, first serve.
During the first round of claims every writer is allowed to make just one claim, and claiming of a prompt by multiple writers will NOT be allowed.
Claiming via proxy will be allowed again this year. The details on how to do that will be provided when the art posts go up for previewing.
The Art Post(s) will be members-locked, so please be sure to join and watch the community in order to participate.
What about crossovers?
We strongly discourage them, but they will be allowed so long as the focus of the prompt remains on the SPN characters or actors. Additionally, it will be the artist's responsibility to provide explanations of, or information about, characters from other fandoms included in the artwork to the author.

and i was also wondering how much say dose the artist/drawer have in the process / plot of the fic
and do i sign up and then start drawing or draw the pic and then sign up/
also i was wanting to know like can i tell my story the pic belongs to in the little note below the pic or do i have to have the note matching
the seen in my pic?
do the authors start writing without the drawer or do they have to get the story from the drawer first
.....i am sorry this is my first time doing reverse bigbang i usually do j2 bigbang
also i would like to do sort of a striper jensen so how much is to much to show in a pic?
the reason i am asking about the authors is because i am new and the striper jensen is NOT totally the kind of pole dancer most think of
i just don't want the author to go too wild with the idea i already have a basic plot for the pic and i would like to voice it

Sorry for the late response (as it is our "down season" so to speak we haven't been checking incoming message for a while). Now, to answer your questions one by one:
Non-con, nc-17, nudity, or anything of the sort is allowed, as long as you add the proper warnings.
There is space on the submission form where you can voice any ideas you have about the story, and where you can add any do's and don'ts for the author. This will be posed along with your artwork for an author to claim. You do not get to completely dictate what the author writes (just as the author can't tell you what to do), but you should collaborate. Talk it over with your author what you'd like to see in the story, ask them what they are planning to write... just talk and work things out that way!
Authors could essentially start writing as soon as they have claimed a piece of art - every author is different, some will want to write right away, others will want to talk it over with the artist first. If YOU want to talk it over before they start to write, the smartest thing to do is to keep an eye on the claims and contact your author as soon as you have been claimed (send them a pm along the lines of "Hi, you claimed my art! I have some ideas, want to talk?").
Like I said, nothing is too much to show, as long as you use the proper warnings!
I hope this has helped. If you have any more questions, don't hesitate to ask!

I was just wondering if we were going to be having a reverse bang this year or if we weren't.
