Submission Confirmations & Timelines

All art submission confirmations have gone out. If you think you should have gotten one, but didn't, check your spam folder. If you don't find it there either, contact the mods ASAP.

The art pieces will be going up in members-locked posts with comments turned off on Monday, September 26 so everyone can get a chance to look through the art before the claiming begins. Prompts will be numbered, without the artist's name attached. Each prompt will include a thumbnail (which links to the full-size version), a short description and preferred pairings.

Specific information about claims, how they work, and the time they open will also be posted on Monday.

Yes. The art posts are going up on Monday, so that people can browse ahead of time. The claiming will be Thursday. We will tell you the exact time claims open on Monday.

Hee. The delay is because one of last year's mods gave us the very good advice that we should give ourselves a week to complete work-intensive steps. We knew early on that we wanted people to have a few days to look over the art. Seven plus 3 equals ten. I know it's nerve wracking, sorry. {{hugs}}

(All of the art is absolutely amazing, though. Not a one of you needs to be obsessing.)

I can't WAIT to see the art. I'm a very visual-dependent writer; every story I've ever written has a setting in it that I've actually seen at some point in my life, and I build things around it. Getting to choose a piece of art and then make a story from it is SO very much in my wheelhouse.

Quick look at last year's posts (which are still up, if you want to look), looks like there were 174 entries last year with artists being allowed up to three prompts each. We have 152 this year with artists being allowed two each.

Credit for the idea goes to last year's mods (who are all different from this year's mods), and I think they took it from a Star Trek Reversebang.

Hi, I am one of the participating artists, and I will be away without much internet access till October 15th, starting today. I will put up a note on my lj for my claiming author as well, and I will try my best to get back to my author soon, but I just wanted to make sure that if I don't respond quickly, the author doesn't think I've dropped out or am neglecting to get back. I will definitely respond after October 15 if I can't before that. Thanks!

We are going to allow proxies, but there are going to be some rules about how they work, so definitely read the explanatory post that goes up with the art.

All four of us live in different time zones, so we're aware of the difficulty. We would have preferred the posts were up sooner, but we had a last-minute issue crop up that we needed to discuss. It unfortunately takes awhile to hold a discussion because of the different time zones. The posts are up now.
