Updates and Reminders post!

Reminder to Artists:
Art drafts are due by midnight EST, the night of Monday, September 20th!  Guidelines for submitting art can be found in this post.  If we don't have a draft of your art by the deadline, you will not be included in the author claims.  If you have any questions, please feel free to leave a comment on this post, or the submissions post, or email the mod email account at spn.rbang.mod@gmail.com.

If you've already sent in your art, you should've received a confirmation email from us.  If you sent in your drafts and haven't received a confirmation email, please let us know.

Reminder to Authors:
The claims post is going to be locked to community members only - you must join the comm in order to see the drafts, and in order to claim a draft!

Call for Art and Fic Betas:
Want to participate, but not sure you'll have the time to finish by the deadline?  We also have a sign-up for Art and Fic Betas.  Please take a look and consider signing up to help out your fellow artists and authors!

How will Author Claims work?
The author claims will be going up in a locked post with comments turned off on Thursday, September 23rd so everyone can get a chance to look through the art before the claiming begins.  Prompts will be numbered, without the artists names attached until after the claiming period has ended.  Each prompt will include a thumbnail that links to the full-size version, genre (SPN or RPF), rating and pairing information, as well as a short description.

After 24 hours comments will be turned on and claiming will begin on Friday, September 24th.  Authors will comment with their LJ username and the prompt number to claim a piece - in the first round authors will only be allowed to claim one piece of art.  Claims will be first come first serve, and the prompts will be crossed out as they are claimed.  In the second round authors may claim a second prompt.

Depending on how claiming goes, we may allow multiple authors to claim the same prompt - as of now that decision is still TBA.

Heya, I've send my art submission in on Monday, and I know that you had trouble answering all the mails in due time, but I'd just be grateful if you could drop me a line to let me know that it's arrived save and sound. Much appreciated...

Yes, I did... I'm going to try and resend it, but there's nothing wrong with the address and the email went out on my account. I've got no idea why it wouldn't work. *meeps*

I've send in my prompts a few days ago, but haven't gotten a confirmation that you've gotten it. E-mail's the same as the Lj name.

I sent three submissions to you on Tuesday, can you let me know if you received them? Thanks!

Hey there, me again,... I just had the chance to see that you'd responded to my mail a second before the spam-folder deleted it. I trust everything arrived? if not, please tell me, and sorry for the inconvenience. *headdesk*

Question, so art can just be a draft, yes?

[identity profile] sugareey.livejournal.com 2010-09-20 04:01 am (UTC)(link)
Awesome. I just sent it in! And will obviously polish up for the final. :)

Also, if possible, can you guys send me a confirmation email; still haven't gotten one yet. Thanks!

Megaupload is taking about a year to upload my vid.

Midnight EST, that means I have longer than 4 minutes right?

I sent my submission in last night. I realize takes time to send confirmations to everyone (you guys are awesome to take all this on), but I'm nervous about not making the deadline because it didn't go through or something. *bites nails* Can someone let me know if you got it? Thanks!

You too!

LOL I'm still being ridiculously antsy that it isn't going to count because it didn't show up in *their* inbox and yada yada yada...

WHEW, I'm ready to pass out from the nerves.

Hey, I was wondering if someone signed up but they won't be around for claims, can they tell someone else who is also participating which they want and that person claims for both of them?

I just want to clarify something here, please....

I was under the impression that the art itself was the 'prompt' or inspiration for the fic, but a lot of the art posted has a 'this is what i think/intend for what's going on in the picture/what the fic should be about'.... Is that how this is actually going to work, or is that something extra that some (not all) artists have added, and can be ignored?

I really hope to get a reply before the prompt claim starts. Thank you!

I'm not a mod, but seeing as claiming is almost here... I thought I'd offer my pov? Because I think... the art really IS the prompt, but as with any bigbang, the whole point of the experience is working together - Where an author can give an artist pointers in the case of a regular bigbang, I think here artists are allowed to offer their thoughts on a (possible) story line. I'd suggest just talking to your artist & comparing your ideas; I'm sure you can work something out.
and, uh, good luck! :)
