2013 Art Submission Guidelines

  • Art pieces should be completed drafts. You may still make changes, but the art should be complete enough that a writer could work from it even if no changes are made.

  • They are due by 11:59 PM PDT (GMT -7) Monday, October 21st, but you may send them in beforehand if you are ready. Early Bird Exception: Artists who wish to submit two prompts must complete and submit one prompt by 11:59 PM PDT (GMT -7) Monday, October 14th. Otherwise, only one prompt will be allowed per artist. EDIT: Artists may submit up to THREE (3) pieces this year. Final deadline still stands.

  • Submissions should be sent to spnreversemod@gmail.com with the subject: Art Submission. Attach the file to the email.

  • You may only submit up to three (3) pieces, but participants are encouraged to work with their authors to create additional art once their pieces have been claimed.

  • If you are doing a comic style piece with panels, it must be one image file which will then count as one piece.

  • There is no maximum size for art, though each art prompt must be at least 400 by 600 pixels. If it is a vid it must be at least 30 seconds in length.

  • There is no need to submit a thumbnail version.

  • Images can be sent in the following formats: GIF, JPG, PNG, and TIFF.

  • Vids can be sent in the following formats: AVI, MOV, MPG, and WMV.

  • Please do not upload your art anywhere; artwork should remain anonymous until after claims reveals. If and only if you have a vid with a file size too large to e-mail, you may upload to an anonymous file sharing site like mediafire and send us the link.

  • Please make the file name your LJ username and whether it's RPF, SPN(FPF) or either. For example, yournamehere_either.jpg or yourusernamehere_spn.avi. If you are submitting multiple pieces, your Early Bird prompt should also have the word early in the file name and subsequent files should have unique names. For example, early_yournamehere_either.jpg or early_yourusernamehere_spn.avi; yourusernamehere_spn1.jpg and yourusernamehere_spn2.jpg. This will allow us to keep things organized and to ensure no duplicate file names.

You must include the following information in the body of your e-mail:
Livejournal Name:

I was planning to submit two arts, and I think I sent them to you earlier, but I'm pulling one of them. I've just emailed the one I want to keep for the reversebang, with the information you requested. (The title has a 1 in it, but that's because I named it that before I decided not to submit the second art.)

I have a question! I understand that art submissions should remain anonymous until after the claiming, but are we allowed to post our art elsewhere (like on Tumblr) after the claims happen? Or should we wait till fic posting in January?

Right, yes! That makes perfect sense! Thanks a lot :D
