Claims Information 2012
The art posts are now up under flock. You will have to login and join the community to view.
SPN Prompt Post #1 / SPN Prompt Post #2 / RPF Prompt Post / Either Prompt Post
Claims Begin:
A single claims post will open at 7 a.m. UTC on Saturday, September 22.
12 a.m. in San Francisco
3 a.m. in New York
4 a.m. in Sao Paulo
8 a.m. in London
9 a.m. in Paris
11 a.m. in Moscow
3 p.m. in Perth
4 p.m. in Tokyo
5 p.m. in Canberra
For other time zones, see this list.
When the Claims Post opens, authors will comment with their top 5 art choices using the form provided. Failure to use the form may cost you your top choice. Mods will reply and inform the author of which piece they get, and the piece will be struck out in the claims post.
In the first round of claims authors will only be allowed to claim one piece of art. Claims will be first come first serve, and the prompts will be crossed out as they are claimed. If there are unclaimed pieces at the end of two days, there may be a second round of claims, wherein authors may claim a second piece to write for.
A correctly completed form would appear like so:
LJ ID: spnreversemod
1st Choice 2000
2nd Choice 3000
3rd Choice 1000
4th Choice 2012
5th Choice 3001
No editing comments. In the event that you miss out on your top choices you must post a brand new comment to the post (not to a comment) with your new selection.
No claiming if you are not signed up as an author. It is your responsibility to make sure you are signed up as author. We will reject your claim if you are not signed up. If your LJ name has changed since you initially signed up, you need to tell us or your claim may be rejected.
We cannot guarantee that anyone will get their first, second, or even fifth choice. Some pieces may be very popular, and it is natural to feel some disappointment if you don't get to write for something that really inspires you. However, please bear in mind the feelings of artists who will be reading the comments to the Claims Post as well; making comments along the lines of "I don't want to write for any of this" or "there's nothing good left" will not make any of the artists feel very good. The staff ask for a little empathy on this matter. If you've ever participated as a writer in a Big Bang challenge, I'm sure you can understand the anxiety that comes from having your work chosen quickly or not quickly at all. Rude or inappropriate comments viewed by the mods may be frozen or screened.
Proxies:
If you are acting as a proxy for someone who cannot be online during claims, you need to state that you are a proxy and the username you are a proxy for. No one may act as a proxy for more than one person. If a proxy will also be making a claim for hirself, the two claims should be posted in separate LJ comments.
Multiple claims:
Two or more authors claiming the same piece to write a story for will not be allowed. Authors may only claim one piece of art per round of claims.
After a piece has been claimed:
Artists are free to contact their author as soon as they see that their piece has been claimed. We will be posting an Author/Artist Matchup Reveals post but that will take time for us to do so we strongly recommend that artists proactively contact their authors.
